For the still image video I plan on preparing a sequence on how to make a chocolate raspberry pie. The video will detail how to make the pie with audience centered commentary while showing the ingredients being used and steps being taken. As this is a no bake recipe the commentary will be focused on college aged students, especially like students at High Point University who live in Blessing or the Village where they have a stove but no access to an oven.
Starting with a jump cut to the final product of the pie is the most simplistic way to peak audience interest, similarly, if I were to illustrate this recipe for print I would start with an image of the complete pie before diverging into the ingredients needed. However, if I were to dictate this recipe for radio I would have much greater difficulties in trying to communicate why one should listen to the recipe I’m presenting. To alleviate this I may sample testimonials from friends who have tried or made the pie to discuss how it tastes or how easy it is to make to help peak audience interest.
In order to approach a more adult audience I would focus the video on how one may utilize the breaks in baking to cook other meals or conduct other tasks. This would aid in showing busy parents or adults how dessert may be made while continuing their day as necessary rather than showing students who may not know how to bake that they can do it with the materials they have provided. This presentation would be much more upscale while also maintaining the message of how efficient this particular dessert is, making it suitable for all social classes, time schedules, and ages without sacrificing culinary quality.
